Reminiscing about my youth, the garment industry is a passion of mine. When I was 16, I really enjoyed sewing, because my mother was a very good seamstress, but she wouldn't let my sisters and I learn her craft. After I completed my university accounting in 1979, I had a job and married.
I am still passionate about fashion design. Every time I go out on the street, seeing the flowing dresses, the long dresses, I secretly dream that one day I will create my own fashion style. But time goes by with the busyness of family life that I have forgotten. When my children grow up, get married and have a great life, I will also reach retirement age. I started to realize my dream by going back to school to study fashion design. After three years of hard work in learning because of old age, lack of agility, language barriers, but with determination plus the active teaching of professional professors has helped me improve industry understanding of fashion design. Specifically, Professors YOUNG, KERI’s, LISA, and RACHES NEVAREZ helped me to do well in my classes. The opportunity “OUT OF THE LANDFILLS”.
I designed a box pleated culotte for women. First, I take the fabric from the window, make a pattern and cut it out of fabric then sew the culotte pants. I am very satisfied with my work even though the color style is not very good. Thank you for reading, Wishing all professors and classmates a happy and safe summer.
