Technology in Fashion
The Fashion Department is excited to present its third annual fashion showcase on May 3–4, marking its first in-person event since Spring 2019. This year, fashion students designed and created garments reflecting the theme “Technology in Fashion,” which celebrates technology and advancements in the fashion industry. Students were encouraged to incorporate technology in their materials, the garment creation process, or other methods.
Over thirty fashion students’ design work will be featured in the showcase. Their designs highlight their use of sustainable garments or design-related projects representing today’s technology, including 3D printing, upcycling, novel fabrics, LED fabrics, textile dyes, and virtual clothing animation.
Beginning May 1, our Digital Fashion Event website will go LIVE and will showcase all of the fashion students’ design work.
The fashion showcase will be displayed on the ground floor of Building 2400 on May 3 from 12–8 p.m. and May 4 from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. The fashion showcase is free and open to the public.
