My name is Jennifer Anne Muresan and I love to spend my time crocheting and sewing. I am a fashion design major that adores all things vintage, from my personal favorites of the Victorian and Edwardian eras to the 90s. I have a special love for making each day to day outfit of mine seem totally different using the endless combinations of my wardrobe. I would love to have my own label and set of boutiques one day to share my romantic and imaginative ideas of fashion.
For the show, I have drafted the pattern for my own fully made original corset, with another one of my handmade peasant blouses underneath for its own separate and coordinated piece. I paired these garments with a long column skirt I made last semester that features another one of my original designs.
From the use of repurposed bedding and secondhand place mats, I have made a sustainable approach to fabrics that otherwise had a good chance of not being used with my own original pattern. Because I began sewing about six months ago in school, I had a lot to learn about the construction of these garments. I figured out on my own how to sew on various trims, change a commercial pattern, make a garment from no pattern at all, and make a corset from scratch which includes all of the boning, lining, and waist tape.
