Hello my name is Angel Gomez! I am an aspiring fashion designer who draws a lot of inspiration from historical fashion and fantastical costuming. I want to expand horizons by making androngynous fashion a more mainstream look and marketing my clothing as something anyone can wear regardless of gender. I have always liked to look back on the silhouettes from times past and see how we can interpret that now into everyday fashion. Ever since I was a kid I had this ideal vision of wearing something magical in my regular day to day as if I was a character out of a movie so why not try and work towards that everyday fantasy!
I submitted a gown that was inspired by the classic look of a Disney princess or a fairy. I got a lot of inspiration from fantasy costumes and classic fairy tales.
The dress I am submitting is made up entirely of muslin. I am also using a muslin mock up of a previous project to conserve more fabric. The pattern I am using was also found at a thrift store and the flowers adorning the dress are made of fabric scraps from past projects.
